Behind THROES NYC are Queens natives Michael Bozzo and Courtney Leo, whose creative partnership stretches back to childhood. Their artistic foundation was shaped by years spent around iconic New York venues including CBGB’s, Roseland Ballroom, and Irving Plaza, absorbing the raw energy of the city’s ’90s and ’00s scene. That history is reflected throughout “The Wires Out,” where analog warmth, electronic experimentation, and atmospheric production meet a distinctly urban sensibility. Their self-described “altriphop” identity gives the project room to cross boundaries while maintaining a recognizable personality.

“The Wires Out” succeeds by embracing imperfection rather than trying to smooth it away. Its themes of connection, disconnection, desire, and nostalgia give the EP a relatable human dimension, while its genre-blurring production keeps the listening experience unpredictable.
