Knabokov Music’s “Our Love Is True’ (out 31 October 2026) is a dance pop record that captures the very exciting and very complicated emotions of young love. It’s a record that really does go back to the high school experience of falling in love and the peer pressure that goes with it. The central theme is about that period in life when you’re absolutely in the throes of emotion, which makes it a very relatable subject in terms of the feelings it evokes. There’s a real sense of nostalgia throughout the record, and it’s a record that brings that feeling of young love and the uncertainty that comes with it to the fore.
A very strong melodic base in fact gives it a lot of its appeal, with some very catchy hooks which go a long way to establishing an enjoyable track. It’s not just a dance track really, there’s a real sense of feeling to it which gives the subject a lot more weight. It’s a very danceable track and that’s what gets you moving, but there’s a real sense of feeling there in the love theme which adds to the sincerity of the whole thing. It’s a track that works on both levels.
Production is very much a driver of the track’s progression, particularly in terms of the vocal arrangements which become increasingly dynamic as the piece progresses. The sheer build up of intensity as the arrangement unfolds is very effective and creates a real sense of anticipation leading up to a tremendous climax. A well placed modulation adds another layer to the piece and gives the final section a real lift. The move into what is effectively an orchestral mega-pop outro is a massive step up in scale and really does bring the piece to a very dramatic close, a far cry from the earlier sections.
Our Love Is True strikes a very good balance between a young love song, a really catchy tune and a fairly ambitious production. It has the right emotional underpinning in terms of the subject matter (a high school relationship) and the arrangement is very much on the move throughout. The modulation and the huge outro are the real highlights of the song and really do add to the sense of it being a very up tempo dance song. A very good dance song in essence, a celebration of young love.
