The instrumental piece titled “Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light) 4 – Cinematic” uses a guitar solo that was originally recorded for C’batch’s composition “Round & Round” as its focal point, and is taken from the EP Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light). Initially, the guitar solo was recorded for “Round & Round”, but instead of keeping it in that original setting, C’batch looked at it again and created a completely new cinematic atmosphere around it, thus giving the solo a new context and purpose.
The guitar plays a central part in the song and acts as the primary means of expression since there are no lyrics. Around the performance are electronic and ambient textures which produce a spacious and dreamlike atmosphere and place the track within the genres of Electronic, Dream Pop, Ambient and Experimental. The way the song is produced allows the guitar to determine the emotional tone while at the same time preserving the wide atmosphere implied by the filmic presentation.
“The Last Light” has a powerful atmosphere of transition, lying somewhere between darkness and hope. Since there are no lyrics to define a particular story, the instrumental leaves a great deal to personal interpretation and may represent a final scene, a memory, a journey, a farewell or a simple moment of reflection, according to what the listener associates with it. This open-ended nature is in keeping with the song’s reflective and atmospheric qualities, as it enables the meaning to stay personal rather than becoming fixed.

What is so interesting about the single is that it changes from one musical arrangement to another. The guitar solo that starts in “Round & Round” forms the basis of a new piece, showing off C’batch’s way of going back to previous performances and discovering new possibilities in them. “Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light) 4 – Cinematic” is a guitar-led journey influenced by electronic and ambient production and provides ample cinematic space so that listeners can enter into their own interpretation of the moment.
