Judith Owen’s new single “To Your Door” arrives as a sparkling preview of her upcoming album Suit Yourself, due April 24, 2026 via Twanky Records. The celebrated vocalist continues her elegant shift into jazz, blues, and big band territory, recorded in the rich musical atmosphere of Esplanade Studios in New Orleans. The track immediately feels playful yet sophisticated, showcasing Owen’s signature storytelling and her growing command of vintage-inspired yet modern arrangements.

Written and produced by Owen, “To Your Door” is intimate and imaginative, reworking the musician on the road theme with a twist inspired by Django Reinhardt’s spirit. At its core, the song is a personal love letter to her husband, Harry Shearer, flipping expectations by placing a confident female voice at the centre. As Owen leans into the emotional core of the single, she delivers one of its most striking lyrical passages, where devotion and turbulence sit side by side: “But I come back, I come back, to your door. The road of love isn’t paved with petals soft & smooth. It’s a rocky road that’s heaven sent or downright war.” This moment beautifully distills the song’s central tension between freedom and commitment, underscoring the honesty and emotional grit that make “To Your Door” so compelling.

Adding a cosmopolitan touch, the single also includes a French-language version titled “TE CHERCHER (To Your Door French Touch Version),” adapted by Yasmine Mohammedi-Kyd. Musically, the track shines with a stellar ensemble featuring Owen on piano, Lex Warshawsky on bass, Ricardo Pascal on saxophone, Pedro Segundo on drums, and David Blenkhorn on guitar. Together, they create a lively, textured soundscape rooted in New Orleans jazz tradition yet refreshingly contemporary. it reflects Owen’s bold artistic vision

With Suit Yourself, Judith Owen continues to push creative boundaries, and “To Your Door” stands as a warm, witty, and emotionally intelligent statement of intent. The single balances nostalgia with modern flair, reinforcing her place as one of jazz’s most expressive contemporary voices. As anticipation builds for the album’s release, this track hints at a project full of heart, humour, and musical sophistication that rewards both casual listeners and devoted jazz fans.
