Helado Negro has announced a new EP titled The Last Sound on Earth, arriving November 7. The five-track project—his first for Big Dada—was inspired by Roberto Carlos Lange’s personal meditation on what the final sound he might ever hear could be. One of its centerpiece tracks, “More,” reflects on the constant push and pull of daily life and the feeling of being buried under excess.
In a statement, Lange described his creative process: “When I wake up, I can hear my ears tuning in to the world. It’s like a blanket being lifted off my eardrums.” He noted that watching Michael Snow’s Wavelength while writing helped him explore a wide emotional range, from despair to hope. That openness shaped the music’s intent: to invite listeners to slow down, reflect, and make space to unravel life’s chaos before beginning again.
The lyric video for “More” was crafted by director and animator Annapurna Kumar. She explained that its central motif, an origami heart, symbolizes emotional processing—using the act of folding as a metaphor for grounding oneself. “It’s about channeling scattered, overwhelming thoughts into something constructive,” she said.
