MOMARZ – THE THEORY

GENRE; EDM/ Techno/ Electronic/ Synth Pop/ SynthWave

RELEASE DATE; 16 April, 2026

RATING; 4/5

MOMARZ’s THE THEORY EP, released on April 16, 2026, feels like a personal snapshot rather than a polished industry product. As the first part of a much larger 16-track album, it carries a sense of purpose but still stands comfortably on its own. Each track reflects a different emotion, and you can tell these ideas weren’t rushed—they feel like moments captured in real time rather than carefully manufactured sounds.

The blend of synthwave and piano is what really shapes the EP. Instead of letting the electronic side dominate, MOMARZ keeps things grounded with simple, expressive piano lines. That choice gives the music a warmer and more human feel. The percussion stays subtle but steady, helping the tracks move forward without taking attention away from the melodies. It’s not overly complex, but it doesn’t need to be, the mood does most of the work.

One thing that stands out is how hands-on the whole project is. Recorded at home using GarageBand and a small set of instruments, the EP doesn’t rely on heavy production tricks or AI tools. That approach gives it a slightly rough edge in places, but that’s part of the appeal. It sounds like something made with care rather than something engineered to fit a trend.

As an introduction to a bigger project coming at the end of May, THE THEORY does its job well. It gives enough to understand MOMARZ’s style while leaving room for growth. If the full album builds on this same honesty and emotional focus, it could turn into something genuinely memorable.
