The Canadian album honor went to the psych-pop artist for All Cylinders, while Mustafa earned recognition for his piece “Gaza Is Calling.”
Yves Jarvis has been named the winner of the 2025 Polaris Music Prize, taking home the award for Best Canadian Album of the Year with his February release All Cylinders. The newly created Polaris Song Prize went to Mustafa for his track “Gaza Is Calling,” from the project Dunya.
The honors, decided by a jury of music industry professionals, were presented on September 16 at Massey Hall in Toronto. Other contenders in both categories included Saya Gray, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, and Ribbon Skirt. Jarvis received $30,000 in prize money, while Mustafa was awarded $10,000, with both awards supported by the Slaight Family Foundation and SOCAN.
In 2024, Jeremy Dutcher won the Polaris Music Prize for Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, making him the first artist in the award’s history to win twice since its founding in 2006.
