Thundercat and Remi Wolf’s New Song “Children of the Baked Potato”

Thundercat has returned with fresh music, sharing two new tracks created alongside producer Greg Kurstin. The first offering is titled “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time,” a song that highlights his signature blend of soulful bass grooves and reflective lyricism. The second track, “Children of the Baked Potato,” features a spirited collaboration with singer Remi Wolf.

The unusual title comes from the Baked Potato, a well-known Los Angeles jazz club that has long been a creative hub for musicians. In a statement, Thundercat explained that the name was intentional, tying his own experiences back to that space while also pointing to Wolf’s roots. “Remi is a child of the Baked Potato, just like me,” he said. “She instantly understood what the track required, and it was amazing to watch her bring that vision to life. The more I hear it, the more I realize there was no better collaborator for this song.”

Alongside the release of these new singles, Thundercat is preparing to hit the road for a North American tour beginning next month. Fans eager for a full-length project will still have to wait, as his last studio album, It Is What It Is, arrived in 2020.
